custom rear shock mounts

im gonna do a flip kit in the near future and while im at it ive been thinking about redoing my shock mounts....im thinking about doing something like this truck, just not as long.....seems like the shocks would be more responsive going side to side, but it seems like they wouldnt both compress at the same time due to the angles, what do yall think?

This design is common with the rock jockeys. This design provides a greater amount of articulation in a limited amount of space. There are some trade offs, and one is the angle in which thay opperate kills much of the rate in the shock, so valving becomes a little tricky to get dialed in. The shock works most effectively whin it is vertical. This angle kills some of the rate. This particualr design also does nothing to help dampen the axle from winding up, so wheel hop can be common with this style of shock angle.

What are you hoping to accomplish? I like the idea of custom mounts, but if the original ones are not all rusted up, is there some other reason to change them? I dont see any advantage there.
Ahhhhh, maybe the light just went off, you are lowering your ride?????
This flip kit is not necessarily a flip, it is a spring under modification right?

bingo, you got it......yes im lowering it, the stock mounts are rusty and i think it would clean it up nicely with custom mounts.......with the flip, i would need shock extenders and i figured if i did it this way, i could set it however i want.......also it seems that the shocks would be more responsive like when going around corners....... i was just worried about how much they would actually be able to move when both tried to work at once, such as when going over a speedbump
