I bought the truck used in February and i was getting around 15 to 16 mpg winter was coming so i got the truck ready for winter and in Michigan that's a good thing to do we sometimes have some rough winter days, well i loaded it down with some wood for them snowy days, and my mpg went down to 12 to 12.8 and checked it with my fill up receipts and it checks out. so how can i get it back up or do i need to reset the computer or something else?

thx
That is what I get on my 06...
It is due to the fact driving with 4 wheel drive engaged, extended idling to warm it up and I believe it is the winter blend of fuel..
Not sure if you have a Diesel, but that's what mine is..
It should go back up on it's own once the above factors change..
Yes its a diesel i was just wondering thx for the answer also is resetting the computer often a good thing to do
Resetting the computer does nothing for the MPG.. In fact it is probably more acurate if you don't..
All the computer does is average out the calculation.. It is better to have more data to average.. When you reset it wipes out the data and starts storing it all over again..
