What do you pull with your Ford?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Feb-02 AT 12:44 PM (EST)]I tow a 24' Coachman TT and put my Kawasaki Vulcan in the back of the truck. Man, I can't wait for springtime.

Kind of on the same note...I want to install a wheel well (porkchop)toolbox to hold sewer hoses, water hoses, etc during the camping season. Does anybody know if I'd lose the use of the tie down hooks with this toolbox?

Thanks,

Rip

What do you pull with your Ford?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Feb-02 AT 08:57 PM (EST)]I pull a variety of boats at any given time (I work at boat yard). Most are in the 13-25 foot range. I once pulled a classic 32' Bertram on a float on tri-axle. It was only 3 miles, but the truck did remarkably well. I dropped her in 4low and idled it up the launch ramp...then back to 2wd and slowly (35mph) drove to the yard. Not bad for a SWB truck with highway gears.

high flow cat; dynomax turbo muffler
stock tire size
Draw-Tite class III weight carrying hitch
home-made brush guard and roll bar
she's not quick...but it'll pull just about anything

I pull a small 4 x 6 foot utility trailer, usually under 1500 pounds. Currently I'm building a 5-1/2 x 12 foot dual axle utility trailer that is able to carry 5 ton. My truck will only carry 3 ton, so I have to lighten up the axles for my own trailer, but the frame will take 5 ton without braking.

Just pull a 16foot bumper pull livestock trailer with 10 head of yearling heifers behind my 95 F150 4X4 with 351 engine. Made the truck snort pretty good. I think a 5th wheel type trailer would probably pull easier, it would balance the load better. Thanks Dave

I pull mostly a 20 ft flatbed, I also pull a home built p/u bed trailer mostly for hauling trash. But if it's got a hitch and needs to be moved, I'll pull that too. Weight and length doesn't matter.

I voted for "Other" because i pull both tongue-pull trailers as well as a 20' gooseneck with a tractor with both truck and trailer weighing in at about 21,000 pounds with a 3/4 ton 4x4 ford superduty with a 6 speed and 3:73 axle ratio---trailer is about4,500 and tractor is about 10,500---and i have brakes on Both axles----I also just --today-feb 26th--ordered a tekonsha prodigy brake controller for my new(old) f250 hiboy--which will soon be ready to roll!!!!fd :-X11

What do you pull with your Ford?

I had already done a message, then i lost it, so here I go again.... I just got a horse trailer, and I have a '93 F250 HD 4x4 351 W. 5 sp.

I also have a '78 Mustang II, Mach I 302 4 sp. that I had pulled an old steel single horse trailer with in a pinch. It had the power no doubt, but I had to start out real slow. Once you were moving it flew like nothing was there.

I just got this truck last july and the bigger nicer Alum. 2 horse w/ lg. dressing/tack room last week so I hope I can really go and have fun now. Mauskatz.

What do you pull with your Ford?

Currently a horse trailer, will be adding a flatbed to deliver tractors/haul hay and a travel trailer in the future.

As far as what I CAN tow - pretty much whatever I want. I have thought about chaining up to city hall and towing Cincinnati to Cleveland.

But only if I can stay within my weight ratings.

Couldn't resist the smart alec part.
