Transmission Malfunction
Hey guys, I got in my truck yesterday morning and when I started it I got a transmission malfunction warning and the od light started flashing. it lasted about 10 seconds and then went away. I took it to see if we could get a read on a code and was told it has to be giving the warning in order to get the code off it. The truck runs fine and the tranny shifts perfectly I don't feel any problems with it. Has anybody ever had this problem? 2004 F-150 4x4 Supercrew 5.4 ltr.

My light came on one time. It said Trans Fault. I dont remeber if the OD light was flashing. I think it might have been hard to remeber it was 2 months ago. I was towing everytime I hit a bump it went from 2000 rpm to 4500 and it lasted a while untill I shut the truck off. Found out a month later my trans was shot. Had to get a new one. Hopefully thats not the case for you.
