Hey guys.. I know this has been covered before ! BUT !!! I have a 4 inch lift in with 315's on my truck ! I have ProComp shocks in there right now that are not even a year old and they are TOAST !
Are Bilstiens the way to go for a lifted truck that gets USED ! I mean USED off road a lot ! I'm driving gravel roads and old ranch roads a lot of the year for work ! Or is there some other brand that will be tougher and hold up better ??? I'm looking at putting duals in the front end !
I have Rancho RSX's and I like them alot, except that they look like crap after about 2 months...they start rusting as soon as you put them on the truck. Bilsteins are good also, and KYB also has a nice shock, spendy though.
I have Bilsteins on two trucks.A PSD and a Goat and will buy them again when it is time. The ride is very good.4Wheel Parts has a sale going.Buy three and the 4th free.Comes to $249 free ship if you want in store pickup.
I just ordered my Bilsteins and got the buy three and get the fourth free deal. It was $195 shipped to my door from shockwarehouse.com. Plus FTE members get an extra 5% discount and free shipping.
I hear that the Bilsteins are a great ride... But I need TOUGH ! lol ! I think they will hold up.. Highoctane (ryan) has a set on his that are leaking a bit and that has me worried a bit ! My truck takes quite a bit more abuse than his does during the course of a year ! He'll attest to that ! He's been in mine quite a bit in the backcountry
If your that hard on shocks, than you need the reservoir shock like pro comp MX8 or 8100 bilstens and there's others etc. You can rebuild a shock like those. and a good set of leaf springs up front.

Thats kinda what I'm looking at right now.. MX6 with res ! Duals in the front and singles in the back ! Can you get back shock with the res attached that will fit back there without hitting on anything ????
Yes you can have front and rear res. for the shocks, the bilsteins are 6100 thru 9100 Procomps are good to, the duals look bad, if you get duals on any set up they should be valved for dual set up.
