Power Mirror - No Up or Down Function
My driver side mirror will only go left and right, not up or down. The passenger side works fine in all directions. I do *possibly* have problems with the wires in the drivers door boot thing as discussed in the thread link below. Can that be the cause of the mirror trouble as well, or should I be checking something else?

this problem is not related to the door looks.there is power up to switch on the door, the problem is either a bad switch ,a broken wire in the mirror hinge or a bad motor. there are 2 motors in the mirror one up and one down.the up wire is dark blue.

Since the passenger side mirror works in all directions shouldn't that rule out the switch as being bad? If I have to replace the mirror are there any other Ford models that have the same part? Is it possible to just replace the motors without having to pull off the whole mirror completly?

there is away to remove the mirror and usallt does not go back to well.then it might too difficult to replace the wire .then again it mybe a bad motor .easier to replace the whole unit .Ebay : automotive unlimited used parts . $29.99 s&h $14.00 check local junk yards
