Exhaust question

Hey all, new here. I have a 96 f250 regular cab, long bed and I want to put on a flowmaster and a do a side exit exhaust before the the rear passenger tire. I know the stock exhaust was one in two out. Is it possible to just have one out without causing any problems? I also still have the cat in place. Thanks

The stock exhaust is technically a single and the number of tailpipes really has no effect, so you can configure it any way you like.

I made my own exhaust using a used set of headers exiting into 2.5 pipes, merging into a single 3" side exit exhaust like you are talking about. Truck runs fine. Sounds much better than stock
I used a Flowmaster 2.5"-3" merge pipe, and a Summit-brand 3" muffler.
