As you can see in my avatar, I recently dropped my truck through the ice and the engine compartment got soaked. The insurance company totalled it out, and my brother-in-law (a salvage dealer) bought it from the insurance company and is trying to work the bugs out.
So here's the issue. The truck will fire right up and run like a champ first thing the morning, and it will make it around the block about 3 or 4 times before the throttle pedal quits working. At that point, the truck will not come off idle until you shut it down and let it cool off again. Then for the remainder of the day it will only make it a block or two before the no-throttle issue returns. The next day, it's the same thing again.
He has replaced the FICM, ECM, and tried 2 difference APPs, with no change. He gets two recurring codes for the APP, and that's it.
They've already tried two different accelerator pedals, and the app sensor is part of the pedal assembly, right? But we'll try cleaning up the contacts in the connector.
I was headed out onto the lake one morning a few weeks back to do a little ice fishing. My buddy had driven across this spot with his 3/4tn Chevy pulling his 4klb ice shack not more than 5 minutes earlier. I was in his tracks when I went thru.
