Cab heat. Temperature control is gone. The fan will turn off/on, the direction control works. The A/C will get cool, but not as fast as normal. I've lost the thermostatic control in my 04.
That is correct, the heat adjust ****/reostat has no effect on the heat being put out. It appears that something's not allowing colder air to be redirected.
On my '01, it was just above the heater box. If you look underneath the dash on the passenger side, just to the left of where the passenger's feet would be, there is an electrical connector there.
When my truck was almost brand-new, it did the same thing. For some reason, the blend door stopped working. I disconnected the connector to it, with the engine running, reconnected it, and it started working. It's worked ever since.
In your case, it's either stuck, or the actuator itself is probably bad.
Gosh.. Thinking of the vacume controled heating systems in older Fords, and seing the vacume tube at a valve inside the cab at the heater box, Is this what you're calling the Blend Door Actuator? Looks like a vacume line. Not an electrical connector. I'll have to look closer. (looking at your diagram above. Thank you!).. I have to wonder if this could be a blown fuse? Hmm....?
