95 F150 4X2 5.8L 3.08 rear
Towing a 20' travel trailer weighing in at 4700 lbs dry
40 gallon white tank.
to give me approx 5000 lbs without additional cargo.
As long as your patient, have low blood pressure, and are never in a hurry...you should be O.K.
If you take short trips with very mild hills or no hills you should be O.K.
If you do not meet any of the above...I'd get a bigger truck (F250) or at the very least change out your gearing to 3:55 or steeper.
According to the 95 owners manual the 5.8 with 3.08 gears on an Auto tranny is good for 5600Lbs max trailer weight. But from experience I have a 95 F150 5.0 with 3.55. It is rated at 6800Lbs. It strugles hard on the hills with a trailer like your describing. Put then I like to out it down and go. I have also towed this trailer with other trucks, So the next purchase fro me is all power stroke!!
