Bedliner options?
The 8' bed on my 79 has quite a bit of surface rust, but is a solid bed. I was thinking about using the "DIY" roll on stuff but i didnt know how much prep work you would have to do, what isn't rusted still has the original faded paint on it. Can i remove the surface rust and leave the old faded paint(not cracking) on there, or whould that have to be taken off? Also, what if i primed the whole thing would it adhere better? because i hear prep is everything. Or is it a ton of work and just better to have it professionally done? Thanks in advance.

i wire wheeled mine, cleaned it with acetone, then really layed the stuff on. gotta make sure the surface is roughed up to get it to stick. idk about priming it, but my herculiner is sticking pretty good to the scuffed metal.
