ignition issue?

My 95 f150 had developed an attitude problem.....Lately, it cuts out usually at highway speeds. More recently it does it when it wants. It seems like it looses all power to the coil, but is is unpredictabe. When it stalls at idle, most of the time it will start right up again but sometimes it takes a bit. I dont know. the relay is good, new plugs, wires cap rotor filters, all that. Also I noticed that when I unplugg the airflow sensor, it makes no differenc in idle or driveability. And it does not throw a code (check engine light does not come on) Please help!

Welcome to FTE.

Not really sure of your problem, but some questions:
Does it just shut off abrupt, or like it runs out of fuel?
Switching fuel tanks make a difference?
Are there any codes at all?
Could be as simple as ignition switch is bad?

it just shuts off like the key is turned off and it does it on either tank. I have noticed that it does it only at operating temprature.

A coil breaking down will sometimes seem like it's running out of fuel. Could try a new coil, MSD on mine cured my problem. I got a cheap one from autohell and it lasted 1 week over a year. This one's been in for about 5 years.

i'd say your coil is bad, they overheat and stop working then when the tow truck gets there your truck will fire right up lol
