On my 71 f100, the battery keeps going dead after a few days of sitting. Nothing is on in the cab. I've replaced the alternator, and regulator. I've disconnected the ignition switch and it still died.
This morning I had to drive it to work so I hooke the pos. battery cable back up. (It won't die this way) And when I cranked the truck I noticed the right turn signal indicator on the dash was on. Not flashing just on. I turned on the right signal and turned it off, it didn't go completely out, it just glowed. When I reved the truck up, it dimmed. Anyone know anything about this? I'm thinking it has something to do with the drain but just not sure how to hem this up.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Try this, reach under the dash and unplug the harness going up the column. Does the light go out?
If not, unhook the battery, put a test light between battery and cable. It should glow as there is a draw on the system. Now start pulling fuses and see what causes the test light to go out. This will narrow down the search.
