Engine Condensation
I changed the oil yesterday and found a very small amount of condensation on the bottom of the oil cap. I felt inside the fill tube and found none. The PCV valve was filthy, but operational. However, I went ahead and replaced for a cost of only $1.88, who wouldn't?
Anyone have this problem? Ideas on what causes it?
I used to be a hot rodder and remember older engines doing this but never expected it from the big V10.

Are you just doing short trips? condensation can built up if the motor is not really getting up to operating temps for very long periods of time.
There may also be some if it has been sitting in cold weather for a long period of time without running.
Much like your exhaust on a cold morning you will notice some water and steam coming out of the tail pipe. Once hot then it is gone.
