the two trim pieces in the dash on either side of the column under the headlight switch (left) and the wts (right) pop out and behind them are two screws on each side. those screws remove the black trim ring around your guages. then there are about 4 more screws that hold the gauge cluster in place and you can take it out enough to change the bulbs they are the little black ***** youll see on the back of the cluster you unscrew them and the bulbs are in them.
What is the easiest way to change out bulbs in dash? Tach light hasn't worked since I got the truck. Thanks in advance !
Is your truck an automatic? if so you have to unscrew the part in the center lower part of the dash, and move it down. And for better access to the dash put your selector in 1 end move down your steering wheel (if equiped (spel?).
Makes it like a whole new truck... I had three out when I bought it. Put new ones it and the truck just felt nicer.
i had about two or three out when i bought mine too. the first week i had it i had to take it to a job site about 100 miles from home at about 1 or 2 in the morning. before i got there every last dang bulb had blown out. i had to turn on my dome light every so often just to make sure i wasnt speeding and that everything was ok lol. if two or three bulbs have blown, chances are the others arent too far behind. while youve got the dash out it might not be a bad idea to just go ahead and change all the bulbs. a couple of extra dollars is worth not having to pull the dash back out again.
