There is a porqupine around the neighborhood too but we don't see him often. Usually just his tracks in the snow. The deer bedded down in the yard last night and they were up at at it early this morning at the bird feeders for breakfast I guess.
I leave nature`s creatures alone as much as possible, they were here long before people and it`s not their fault we`re trespassing in their territory.
My dog is smart enough so there`s no problems with porcupines or skunks.
Porc`s are very easy to relocate with an empty 45 gallon drum, a scoop shovel and then taken to a vacant but treed field where they can`t bother anyone. And it would take them forever to come back if they chose to do so.......
Skunks are good for getting rid of mice and gophers, as long as they`re not carrying rabies.
Last time I checked the deed to my land, there was my name on it, not a porquipines
Ill take my chances with mice over rabies! Out here there is way too many critters around and they need to be thinned out.
I can respect that not everyone decides to handle animals that way though.
I`m not about to go along upsetting nature`s delicate balance, it`s been screwed with enough already. One way or another every living creature is here for a reason.
Be careful with mice, people have have died from the deadly virus they can carry.
