I am trying to replace the brake pads and rotors on my 03 Ford escape but find it impossible to remove the rotors. Is there something that I am missing? I have tried pullers and a rubber mallet but no luck? Please help.
Sometimes they can be a real bugger to get off. Bigger hammers, grinders, even torches are sometimes needed. When you do get them off, you can make future repair jobs easier by using a liberal amount of never seize lubricant on the hub where the rotors make contact. Up here where I live (Northern Maine), it is the road salt that causes the corrosion problem. It causes real havoc on drum brake hardware too.
