Is there a gooseneck to fifth wheel adaptor? i know there are adapters to go from a kingpin to a goose ball, but can you go the other way? i have a 15k 5er for the bed already.
I know if you think about it for a minute you will see the trouble. Gooseneck is long enough to reach almost to the bed of the truck. 5th wheel hitch is usually already above the wheel wells.
Bout all you can do is shorten the gooseneck and weld on a kingpin.
I'm confused (and that didn't take much)! If the trailer is set up with a Goose Neck, it is basically set up to run 2' 5/16 over the surface of the bed. Well most King Pin/5th wheel trailers the hitch point is 12" to 18" OVER the bed surface. So if I were TRY'ing to change from Goose Neck to King Pin I am raising the front of the trailer 9" to 15" and that alone will cause TOWING issues.
So who what hitch will say they reduce the hitching point to jive with normal towing position(s)? Where or how would an adaptor bring that down?
I know that BW does and I think there is an options for Reese to add a Ball Mount (Goose Neck) to your existing RAIL Mount King Pin mount.
If you read my past posts you'll find that I am a STRONG supporter of the Goose Neck connection for what it is worth.
If you have an adjustable tube hitch, call the builder to see if they offer a 5th wheel tube to replace the goose neck tube. I know Big Tex and PJ do, as I have both tubes for my trailers. The PJ 5th wheel tube was $175.00 and the Big Tex was about $225.00.
