96 explorer
i have a 96 explorer and i was woundring if the relay for locks is bad b.c my door will not lock from the button on the door or from the remote but will unlock and from the remote and from the door the button in the trunk will lock and unlock the door i was woundring if u guys think this is the relay or something different

look for a broken wire in the door cable ,in the rubber boot between the door(drivers side) and the piller,pull the boot back and look for wire pink/yellow tracer also a,pink /lite green tracer .give these wires a thug to see if they are broken inside thier insulation .

try swaping the lock relay with each other ,and see what happens .there are 3 lock relays over the drivers side wheel well. open the jack compartment and up over the wheel well you will find the lock relays .see if they all operate ,place your hand on each and have some one operate the switchs and remote .one relay is for the drivers lock and one is for all unlock and the other is for all other lock. in front of the relays is the remote anti theft personality module (rap)
