3rd gear
have 64f250 4x4 292 v-8 4speed,sometimes find 3rd gear okay sometimes not,is this common and or will np435 2wd trans fit----have divorced t-case divorced t-case???

64 is the switch year for the bolt patterns. Typically a pre 65 trans is needed to do a bolt in swap. The NP will need to be of this vintage "64" or earlier. 65 and later had a different length input shaft, centering ring and wide bolt pattern.
The swapped trans if out of a 2 wheel drive will need the speed o hole plugged as the cable is on the T case.
