blew mine up and its at a shop known for doing it right. they say its going to be $2800 for a full rebuild and do the rear main also. how much would it cost to just buy a new tranny from ford or something. any help would be nice. kind of pissed off right now at my truck and dp tuner.
Why at dp-tuner?? I upgraded my tranny with a valve body and running my dp-tuner for almost 3 years now with no problems. Anyway does that price include a new upgraded torque converter. I know at BTS its around (don't quote me on this) but about $4500.00 installed (give or take a couple hundred bucks).
I put out 1800 bucks twice for two stock rebuilds, didnt last no longer then 6-8 months with a lift and a chip.....I then put out 4600 for my BTS with 6.0 trans cooler and shaffers tran fluid,,,LOVE IT I am really kicking myself in the butt for not doing it the first time....feels like a whole new truck, and the warranty is outstanding.
Double check that the rear main is actually leaking. Usually leaks occur up top in the engine valley and they seep to the back of the engine and down to the inspection hole of the tranny simulating a rear main leak.
its deff the rear main. its been leaking since the day i bought and and the seller told me it was that. is $2800 a good price for a full rebuild with stock converter and rear main seal?
