Hello from a new guy

Well after years of driving german cars I have finally decided to part out my current car and buy a truck. I found a 1999 F250 with a F350 rear end and suspension for sale and will be picking it up tomorrow night. It already has a bully dog chip, injectors, and intercooler and a 6" (or so I was told) exhaust. I am going to try not modding this like I have my last few cars and keep it where it is for a little while, but that never happens. Fortunately the guy I am buying from has seemed to keep very good care of the car and adressed many of the main problems I saw when I searched for problems with these cars.

Welcome!!! congrats on the truck!

FYI: The only difference between a 250 and three 350 is the stock size block under the rear leaf spring. The 250 has a 2 inch stock block and a 350 and a 3" stock rear block. NOTHING ELS. So if he's trying to sell it by telling people that he put in a "better/tougher" rear end from a f350 then he's just trying to pull one over on ya, or he spent alot of $ and didn't gain anything from it besides a bigger block. LOL

Good luck let us know!

Yeah I figured that, I spent close to 20 grand on my BMW that I bought 4 years ago on mods and what not. I'm going to do more of the basic stuff like speakers and gauges and other random exterior modifications. When I graduate college in a year I will probably lift it then, but to tell you the truth I really doubt it will happen then and not sooner.

That's what my friend was telling me. The guy was convinced that there was a different gear ratio in the rear end. I really don't know, but I do know I am going to be taking off the F350 emblems he put on there and replacing them with the correct badges.

I would just leave the 350 badges... it dosn't make a difference unless you get pulled over by DOT alot... lol And even then its not illegal just more explaining you need to do.

Yeah it was on the already long list of stuff I plan to do to this truck, but it isn't that important right now. Like I said we will see how long it takes to start modding, already convinced myself I need to get an intake and I am trying to figure out which one. There is a selection of them compared to the 3-4 companies that made them for BMWs when I bought mine.
