Annyone tried this?

Has anyone ever "shaved the log" on a stock 300 carb intake and fit a 2bbl?
I understand that it is a popular and common mod on the 200/falcon six engines. I belive the log is wider on the smaller engines but I belive a guy could mill the 1bbl plate off and mount a steel plate to the log with cap screws.
Sealing the plate may be difficult as permatex would burn from the exhaust riser. Plumbers putty?

Run the studs up and mount. I got a spare manifold sitting in the dirt that could be cleaned up and used. I think its got a busted riser bolt in it but.....

I dont want a 2 into 1 adapter plate as they are $45 and loog retardedly restrictive.

Now to twist the idea further use a holly progressive 2 bbl off a pinto?????????????????

Yup, it is popular with the SB6 crowd as the results are much better than just the 2v x 1v adapter although I know of at least one person that uses one under a Rochester 2G and claims a noticeable difference.

I've often thought the H/W type progressive 2v from a Pinto,Vega, or whatever would probably deliver good mpg but might not be very "quick" on the primary...that is what the secondary is for...but it's just a thought with no empirical evidence to substantiate the thought.

Because they are cheap and easy to rebuild.
