Tire Balance?

I have a tire that is out of balance, The truck has a 40-50 mph vib, and then fades away till around 70mph. I know the tire doesnt have enough weight on it as I have had it balanced correctly... once. Only problem is that the tire needs 10oz of weight to balance it. yes 10oz in one spot. I have 16" alloy rims on my 2004 sd. The one time the tire was balanced the dealer ship that balanced the tire used two 5oz weights. Problem is the weights were cracked in the centers and I lost one. I brought the truck to a tire shop and he told me that the biggest weights that he knew of were 3oz? The tire shop installed three 3oz well weights and said that was the most he could do. Now I still have the vib!!! And its a real PIA!!

The dealer that had done the good balance has since closed for good... grrrrrrrrrrrr

Do I need to break the bead on the tire and rotate the tire?

Install weight inside the tire as well as outside the tire?

HELP?

I would definitely rotate the tire on the wheel to help minimize the amount of weights required to balance the tire.

I have heard of some sort of powder in tires also. Mostly on large tires to get them close. Are you positive it's a tire. For my 06 there is a TSB for this same thing. I asked about the fix and what it did and a guy said they put some sort of weight on the hitch.

get to a good tire shop which uses a rim clamp tire machine and a spin balancer. check to make sure all the weights have been removed first. spin it, and have them mount and dismount the wheel/ tire rotating the tire on the rim until the numbers for weights are reasonable. You might even have to swap the tire over to one of the other rims. Also have you tried stick on weights on the rim?

POSITIVE its a weight issue. The tire was balanced before with the 10oz of wheel weight and the truck was a smooth as a babys butt.

I was thinkin I would have the tire shop rotate the tire on the rim to get it within a more reasonable balance. Or at least attempt a better balance. But figured I would ask before the tire shop tells me Im stupid... lol
