What a tow!

Took our 9,000lb 5th wheel out this weekend with my new F-250 crew cab, long bed 6.4L diesel for the first time. Hit the on-ramp and barely knew it was behind the truck. This new truck is awesome. Had to pass a little ole lady in a minivan, touched the gas pedal and was around her in seconds.
The power is amazing. Mileage was excellent also. Won't go back to gas ever again.

My sentiments exactly. You can add another 5,000 lbs. to your 5th wheel and still wonder if it's behind you in these trucks.

I've towed with a Dodge diesel and I can tell you the Ford is by far the better towing machine. That 6.4 is a towing monster!

So no major drop in milege from no load to load? I have an 08 F350 dually 4X4 with 4:10s that is Job 3 and latest flash with 2800 miles and at 70 mph only get 11.6 to 12.6 mpg. I'm hoping for it to get better w/o load because this summer I will be towing a 10K 5th wheel along with a 3K boat and with my 05 F250 I got 9-10 mpg and somtimes 11 mpg (no wind) @ 65-70 mph. I went to the dually for more stablity and possible flat tire protection. The F250 had 3:73 gears. Any thoughts?

Same exact truck as you. 10 to 12 with 10,000 lbs. 5th-wheel & 15 to 17 MPG. unloaded on the HWY. Got to keep her at 2000 RPM's , 62 to 63 MPH. to get the 15 to 17 unloaded. I have a job #2 truck w/10,500 miles on it. Planning on getting latest flash done here soon. BTW wait until you tow with it, you won't even know you have a load behind you, it is awsome.

Mine is a job 2 and a 4X2. I paced it around 60-65 and was getting about 11.5 mpg loaded. If I keep my foot out of the gas pedal (which is hard to do) I get 15-19 on the interstate. Used less than a quarter tank of diesel for the 110 mile towing round trip this past weekend. My previous gas 5.4L F-250 burned a 1/4 tank there, 1/4 tank back.
My truck has the camper package add-on, so when I set the 5er down in the bed, the truck didn't even move. Forget the bilsteins or whatever.
A few of you state your mpg's are worse after the latest reflash. Maybe I'll just leave my truck alone.
I am blown away by the towing power of this truck and response when needed. Shoulda bought a diesel long ago.
