Just to add to your list for obs. more cab space because the dash isn't 2 feet deep. And I can wear my cowboy hat in the cab not limited to a baseball cap. And there is plenty of room to hang my cb. from the roof.Heavier sheet metal panels not plastic and tin.Simple creature comfort controls ei.windshield wiper, lights.and yes I actually like the dimmer switch on the floor not on the turn signal. Door hinges and handles that last. I can get to the back plugs easily on my 460 engine (not buried deep in the firewall).
I would like the new style of mirrors though.

I can't stand the old body style.

Not to mention that TTB front-end - the biggest joke I've ever seen in my lifetime.

I've got nothing against the old body style.
It looks classic, and there were solid powertrain options available. While the Dana 50 Twin Traction Beam front ends were kind of funky with leaf springs, I'd still choose it over the IFS Chevy stuff of comparable years.

It might be trivail, but I love the way an old body style truck sounds when the door is shut. They have a distinct sound on any of the F-Series trucks. Weird, I know!

Are you referring to the body style, or the TTB?

The TTB, as soon as the springs settle at ALL immediately causes the tires to bow out.

As for the old body style, and the entire package, it was one of the reasons I wouldn't give up my '74 highboy until the SD came out.

My own opinion of course, but ...for various reasons, especially the 460 and it's stunning lack of power and efficiency, and just the looks of it in general, I'll take my V10-powered SD any day.

And don't get me started on the newer coil-spring SD front-ends

To each his own. I was a Chevy man till my Super Duty, and now there is no going back. While it's to heavy to enjoy the sand, and not much of a mountain climber, it outclasses anything else I've ever owned and it's not even close.
