i have the same thing but 1977....don't get mad but the older trucks for some reason are rated low.....book say's 5000lbs trailer - gears
etc. can go to 7500 lbs. the 7500 is mine with the camper and hd option's f-250 hd......now what have i towed alot more than that..
but short trips.....brake's are one problem with the old one's
even if in good condition....new brake system's 1000 time's better
yes even with trailer brake's. so what are you going to tow?
also get this my truck only weight's 4500 lbs.rated at over 8000 gvw....new truck is 7200 lbs. rated at 9900. old truck rated higher....not really i would load up the newer one more and be safer
i know my old truck will outpull alot of new one's but i know the new one's are safer......don't get me started on my old truck's rear brake's lock up all the time..dry and wet.
