Coolant still goes missing??????

so here i am with thousands of dollars worth of work done to my engine and somehow my coolant is disappearing. I've got the arp stud kit, fire-ringed heads and egr delete and my coolant is still going somewhere. its no getting blown out unless i over fill it and im not seeing it in my exhaust smoke. So where could it be going. i've check for leaks and have seen nothing on the ground or on my engine. is it possible that my block heater is burning it up?? Any body have any thoughts. I know my gaskets are not leaking for one because of the work i've done and im not running a programmer yet and and secondly i still have great power and fuel milage. so where could it be going????????????

so i added a little just so i could see the coolant it the degasser bottle and it blew it out. Is there anything else besides head gaskets that could cause this to happen?

You did a full blown delete on the EGR system?

Check the valley for any coolant build up.

What delete kit did you use? Depending on the amount missing it's possible it can leak from the bypass hose if you did a full EGR Cooler delete and used one of those kits with the heater hose.

I've never come across any that continued to loose coolant after that work.

Did you get your decks checked, were the heads within spec? Did they machine out for the fire-ring gaskets?

they installed the liberator delete kit and i believe it does have a heater hose and my valley looks like there is a bit of an oil leak somewhere. i like to think that ford did check my block before installing the heads and no the deck was not machined for the fire ring. i was told that is only neccesary on a gas jobber and that they did go with the proper gasket for this app. god i hope they didnt f*#K me on this. i spent a putt load of cash just before christmas. but it would blow coolant right away when i got it back but i was over-filling it. that much i know. and as far as the heads go, mine were completely NFG and i got a set of reconditioned heads with the fire-ring from a very reputable shop here in alberta. i mean they build 9 second diesels so i hope i could trust them.

WOOPS. Sorry bud. You said Fire, I was thinking Wire. Wire-Ring gaskets require a machining groove on the deck.

Ok Liberator is by ITP, and those guys are pretty good. I'm not real fond of the hose piece, there are some delete kits now coming out with full blow steel tubing versus that little piece of hose. That's what I'm getting put into mine.

Reconditioned heads are just that. Did Ford tell you what the mil spec was on your decks? Sometimes the heads will warp to the point the deck starts going and then you find out you need a shortblock replacement.

Besides coolant loss, you're not experiencing anything else right? Is your temps within range, EGT lower then previous? Try draining your degas bottle (if its high) and fill it to where the line is between low/high on the bottle. Some Ford dealers marked the bottle with new stickers but if yours is like mine and its not marked, then the new "high" is between the molded low/high marks on bottle. Then observe for few days, or better yet go out and hammer the living crap out of it. You'll know in a bit if you're eating coolant.

Do you have a coolant filter system installed?

Mine was a oilcooler. The oil temp would spike very quickly after it was started like 10 miles or less took 3 trips to the ford house to finally fix it.

i seem to have some sort of sludge at the bottom of my degasser bottle. Some what looks like an oil film. might be a good call. my truck seems to warm up super fast now. but other then that performs very well. i have no chip and a passed a dodge blowing a cloud of back smoke. he only had stock exhaust but still i was impressed. and like i said i never asked about my deck specs but my dealership has been really good to me and i'd like to think that they would have been straight up about it. lke im running 37's and at 120,000 i roasted my tranny and they covered it. so i dunno. i think this oil cooler might be a good guess. i'm not that mechanically inclined but i'm definatly gonna tell my boys my opinion. thanks guys. Oh ya-it takes about 2 minutes for my heat gauge to start coming up and within like 5 minutes its up to half. thought that seemed kinda fast. is it possible it could be a faulty thermostat?? and im not running a programmer and have the egr delete-could that be the problem? and is it possible to get the steel hose for my liberator egr delete kit??? sorry my reply was so long but i have a water/meth kit, projectors, bladerunner and X3 im itching to put in, im past 160,000 but have an open work order and i want to make sure i dont f#*k **** up when i put this in. lol

the other thing i'd like to mention is that my truck seems to like warmth. It's a completely different truck when it gets above 0c. the difference from -3 to +3 is amazing. does that help anyone in figuring what the duece is going on??? or is everyone confused like me now. cause usually it gets better the colder it gets??
