hey i have a 1978 bronco with a 400 bigblock 4 speed and coiled front end dana 44, and i was driving and it made a bang found out that it was the passenger side nuckle blew apart, what would be the steps in how to get at the inner axle shaft to replace the blowen universal joint, any special tools required as well thanks

 

Not a too big job. You probubly want a snap ring pliers and a spindle nut wrench. But even those are not required. There are no c-clips on a solid axle 44. (steer axle)
