60k mile maintenance

I just have over 60k miles on my 2001 V10 4x4 Ex. I am planning on having the trans fluid flushed (had it done at 30K), and have already changed the fuel filter at the last oil change. I changed the plugs at 45k and rechecked the torque at 55K. I am debating as to whether to change the transfer case and differential fluids. I know the t-case should be easy, but the diff's will be messy!!. Also, I am wondering about my u-joints. In particular the rear drive shaft. There is a auto parts store near my house which will press out the old ones and press in new ones as long as I bring them the driveshaft. Any thoughts??

Fluids are great to change. might wanna look into putting an 08 rear diff cover on since you're gonna remove that rear one anyway. Pretty cheap.

As far as the U-joint. My philosophy is "don't fix what isn't broke".

What's with the '08 Diff covers? They hold more fluid or something?

No but they're pretty, aluminum, finned and help cool the fluid a bit better. Did I mention that they're cheap? $50 or so.

rlh: the diff oil is easy to change, and the messy part is trying to get the fluid back in. Just start with one and while the sealant is drying you can work on the other, and then last the transfer case.
Just remember if you replace with the 08 finned cover, you will need to get longer bolts.
