Replace front rotors
Need to replace my front rotors and pads. 1997 f250 7.3 4x4 4door sb., auto 4x4
Does anyone know the size of the nuts that hold the bearings / hub on and if there are there any tricks or surprises in doing this.

advance auto has a special socket that you use to take the hub out with. when you tighten it back up you torque it to certain amount(not sure what it is right off) and then back it off about 8-10 clicks. one of the pieces has an indention in it and it has to be lined up with the **** on the piece behind it or it wont tighten up properly. just put everything back in the way it came out and you should be fine. while youve got them out it would be a good time to clean the wheel bearings and repack them. or if you prefer, replace them.

oh yeah, and when youre driving the studs out of your old rotors i would recommend placing a brass punch on top of them and hitting the punch instead of the studs. one bad swing and youre screwed.

I could only find one at Kragen where I live. Powerbuilt #648477. 4 Lug X 2-1/2" inner spindle nut. Thats for manual locking hubs. The other automatic hubs use a different socket. I'm not sure about that one.
