Question Just installed IC??

So all today i put a 6.0 ic with the banks kit in my truck. I had to fight a lot of extra stuff do to the plow and had to do some seriour cutting on the mount and now need to get it rewelded someway. I have a few questions though. There is a hole on the elbow on the banks piece coming off the turbo, what is it? Also does it matter what way is in and out on the cooler? I also heard about moving the map sensor or something and finally is this suppose to clean up some of my smoke. The kit wasnt to bad and if i ddint have a plow it would have been clean cut and quick.

That fitting (or hole) in the pipe is for the boost line but if you move the MAP line over there the PCM will start fueling quicker because the MAP sensor will see the boost right away instead of waiting till the whole system is pressurized

No, it doesn't matter which way the air flows thru the IC, otherwise everyone with a 6.0 IC on a 7.3 would be in trouble because a 6.0 flows in the opposite direction.

Nope, it won't do nothing about clearing up the smoke, You'll need more air to do that.

Yep, moving the MAP line to the hot side will enable it to see boost quicker.

If anything you'll probably see more smoke with the addition of the IC.

ok thanks a lot guys i didnt think it mattered whivh way it flowed but after i got it in i just started to second guess my self. If you move the map sensor over there do u just block the hole off where it use to be. Also the new hole on the banks elbow isnt opened up all the way. Its like a half inch hole and then the hole gets smaller before it goes into the pipe, Is it suppose to be like this or drill it out?

I would not drill it out at all. Just so long as there is a hole in it.

Yes just plug the old hole where the map line used to be.

Do you move the whole sensor or just run a longer rubber hose? Also how do you block off the old one?

Just leave the MAP sensor where it is and run a new line over to the turbo pipe.

You can remove the old line from the nipple on the intake plenum and replace it with a rubber cap and clamp it or just cut the old line short and put a bolt in the end.
