Explorer parts

I was wondering if there are any parts other than the heads from an Explorer 5.0 that would be an upgrade for a 5.8 EFI. I plan on making the switch to MAF as soon as I gather the parts. I can get everything from the Explorer except the short block. Anything I really need? Thanks.

Unfortunately the lower intake manifold from a 302 won't fit a 351. The GT40 intake from the Explorer is a significant upgrade over the garbage they put on our trucks.

There is a GT40 5.8 lower but it's no longer in production and is rare and expensive used. As with all other OEM Ford intakes the GT40 style lowers are a but squashed and can benefit from some port work. But it's hardly worth the effort when you can buy a new and better flowing complete intake(upper and lower) for under $350
