5th Wheel Towing

I've got a 2004 6.0 PSD CC FX4 - I'm pulling a 35ft 5th wheel that is 12K dry.. Is that overloading my truck to much? the truck looks level when it's hooked up and I just have the stock Rancho shocks on it..

Thanks..

You will be fine. Just make sure you can stop it.

Ditto Smokey, just make sure those trailer brakes are in good shape and the brake controller is set properly.

Just an FYI, you might take the 35ft 5th and go to a scale at a truck stop. Check the weights before and after you have it loaded. The scales at the Cat scales near me charge $8 for one and $11 for two weighs. I usually check the truck and trailer seperately, then hook up and recheck the total and you can see the hitch weight on the truck. It's a good check to see if the manufacturers suggested weights are actual weights, the brochures are often wrong. Happy Camping

Up until 26 hrs ago I was pulling my 33ft 11,500 lb 5er with a 2500HD 6.0 Gas and did pretty good. Now with the new (to me) F350 6.0 it will be a snap!

I have been towing my 39 ft copper canyon fifth wheel with a 03 chevy 2500HD 6.0L gas crew cab short box with no problems. I can tell the truck is a little light for the camper so I bought a 04 F-350 6.0L SW crew cab short box lariat yesterday. I am also upgrading my camper to a forest river sierra 375QBQ 4 slide which has an overall length of 40'
