Another OD ?

This has probably been asked a million times, but I coulden't find the answer. I have a 99 explorer v8 awd, I tow a couple of snowmobiles around with it, so should I turn OD off or leave it on. I have no problem going up hills at 60mph with it off, but people I ask tell me to leave it off.

Another OD ?

If your tranny runs hot or if it hunts for gears in OD then turn it off. If it runs cool and stays more or less in OD other than steep hills then leave the OD on.

I unfortunately don't have a tranny temp guage, I do run synthetics.
How can I tell if its runnong hot.
