a real shift kit (trans go or B&M) would be prefered, the trans command is electric which adjusts line preasure on the shift, a shift kit is working the valve bodies in the tranny.

i have a shift kit in mine that the previous owner had put in when he rebuilt the tranny before i baught the truck, either one will be better then stock though.

I recomend doing a shift kit and a new style line presure modulator. As long as you understand the concepts of righty tighty lefty loosey you should be able to put a shift kit in. Also you could check in the 94.5-97 fourm and search coon trany mod. Coonhunterjoe up there drilled 3 1/16" holes in his valve body to make it shift firmer.
