Digital Door Lock Question

The digital door locks on my Ex. have started to work less frequently. For a while they worked 90% of the time now it is down to less than 50% of the time.

Is there a way to clean the contacts within the key pad as I suspect that is where the problem is?

Yes. You can pull the door panel and you can pop the keypad out. It disassembles pretty easily. I think I have a picture of it pulled apart in my gallery.

I removed the door switch and cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser and then touched each contact with a paper towel wetted with WD40.

Sorry I can't post a picture but this page only accepts pictures from a URL.

If you do this find a place to store the connector for the door switch. Otherwise it will fall down into the door.

This is an attempt to load a picture of the door key pad. It failed
