Weird problem after tensioner stud broke.

The tensioner stud broke while driving. I pulled over and unwound the serp belt. Luckily no damage to radiator, fan clutch, etc.

But after replacing the alt/air pump bracket, and the tensioner, the alternator warning light is lit. The gage reads normal. Like it's charging. When I hit the PW switch it jumps just like normal.

Is the alt damaged? Over charging?

I had the same problem. It was a loose connection at the plug on the side of the alternator. It had to be pushed or wiggled a few times whenever anything was done on the truck. The light would stay off after a few times. After the alternator was replaced went front bearing out no more problem.
