I have a 03 F250 6.0. I just had the oil cooler and EGR cooler replaced last summer (about 20K miles ago). I've been keeping an eye on my coolant since then.
Well, long story short, I was working on my truck this weekend and had to remove the intake hose off the top of the radiator. I collected some of that fluid and its what I would call dirty. Dark brown in color, with what looks like small particulates floating in there (carbon maybe?). I'm unsure as to what could cause this discoloration and could use some help. I do not think it is oil in the coolant; I would assume they would separate after awhile and be fairly obvious.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
if you install a coolant filter, your coolant will look as good as new in a couple thousand miles. Look at the coolant filter offered by dieselsite.com as that's what many people are using with great results.
