I notice soon after I purchased it that my 04 F350 was puking coolant out of the overflow tank. I called 2 dealerships and told them what the truck was doing and asked about my mods. I didn't get a straight out "NO I will not touch your truck under warranty" but I did noy get a warm and fuzzy feeling from them. So I made a call to friend and he set me up with a friend of his that is a service writer (2 hours away from me). He takes in my truck and tells me that he will hook it up. i gave him the head studs to put in and he said that he was going to change the EGR and oil cooler too. I am VERY GREATFUL! Because I just bought the truck and my wife hates it because its so big, so telling her that I have to drop $5K on repairs would send her over the edge. My truck has been at the dealer for 3 weeks and I dont even know if they have started working on it yet. The service guy keeps telling me that there are 2 trucks ahead of mine and that he is going to talk to the tech and call me back..I have yet to recieve a call. I dont want to be a PITA with the service writer because no other dealer wanted to touch my truck because of the lift.
Now my truck has been there for a month and it is not done. All I was told is that they are waiting on parts. Anyone else experience this? Or Im I the lucky one?
Any time mine has gone to the dealer I can figure a week for them to just look at it then possibly work on it and get it back. 4 days to look at it 5-6 days if they actually do something.
Yeah mine was the same way! Dropped it off on a Monday and the next Wednesday they
called me and asked if I wanted a new degas bottle well I got it that afternoon
my truck took forever too getting studded because they kept finding more things wrong with it and recomending stuff to "upgrade"
but yeah i know exactly what your saying with the dealerships lagging when it comes to diesels. when my truck was in the shop under warranty i would always be eager to get it back they gave me so many excuses. like 10 trucks ahead of mine and it would take at least 2 weeks to diagnois but i had to keep my truck there or else i would loose my spot in line... then also one time "all there diesel techs were at a one week diesel learning seminar".
i bet your bummed it's taking so long but atleast your not paying the bill. i didn't think they would void the engine warranty over a lift kit?? i could see maybe powertrain but that's just me...
