SCT programmer Questions.

So now that i'm done with bully dog and looking for a new programmer i've decided that im gonna run an SCT. Not sure if i want the livewire of the X3. i have C2 gauges so im not really lookin for something else on my dash put i also dont want to sacrifice any progamming options. Does the X3 run the same as the livewire just with out the display? also i was wondering where you all find these spartan tunes and does anyone know of a custom tune that would work well with a Stg II water/meth kit. Winter is almost over and my bladerunner is in and my kit is sittin in my closet. Im just itchin to try it out!!!! Thanks.

I'm waiting to get a tuner (SCT, not even a question) untill my warranty is up in '10. But I've read a lot on them. Most willl tell you to stay away form the livewire, they're prone to problems. Also since you already have gauges, that's another reason to get the X3, it's more reliable than the livewire.

Who you going to get tunes form?

Do they even make the old school SC 1704. I acquired a new one from a friend.

Give Eric a call at Innovative and tell him what your set up will be using, he can custom tune from that information.

though i do have to say i would just bone up and purchase them from someone who can write them specifically for your truck and your mods and change it to how you want it. these can not be changed and if there is something that you don't like then you are stuck. granted they are free but i would go out on a limb and say that most would be happier getting a tune where they have a say in what the tune does and how it feels.

I have the livewire, if I was to do it all over again I would get the X3. The only difference is the real time display, they both program the same. I am getting the DiPricol A-pillar guages next week so the livewire display is pretty much worthless for me. I also recommend getting your tunes through Eric at Innovative. I have the Xtreme Street and love it, I run it as my everyday tune. Good Luck Bro....

Eric at Innovative Diesel, I also run the Xtreme Street tune but he can hook you up with whatever you need!

I have a 9415A SCT Programmer that I think I want to sell. I bought it about a year ago and was waiting for my warranty to expire before I installed it. Well....I have had over $30,000.00 worth of mechanical repairs in the last 15 months and I am very concerned that this motor cannot handle a program. I paid $just over $400.00 for this thing and am open to reasonable offers. It is brand new and never been used on any trucks.

you can purchase the tunes from anyone in the world. what they do is write them for you and then they email them to you. then you download them to your computer and then put them on your X3.

I spoke with Mike Butler at 5startuning. His direct line is 843-667-3595. He is sending me a used SCT that I can use to download all the pertinent info from my truck and send it back to him. He is paying shipping both ways.

Once he gets that, he will write tunes specifically addressing my priorities, load them onto a new X3, and ship to me.

All that for a little less than $400.00

Not too bad.
