Eastwood Products

Has anyone ever used any Eastwood products, I am especially interested in the rust stabilizer/primer called Corliss (sp?) Any good or bad stories, how is their service etc. I am doing a frame on a '65 F100 2wd, and want to finish the frame black. My other option is to have the frame dipped, but this could leave areas I cant see exposed to elements. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Don

I've used Corroless on the hood of my truck (front lip and underside)and it works ok. Had to recoat the rusted areas once, and only because of pinholes in the Corroless (very thick paint). BTW, I live in Guam, a very corrosive area due to being so close to the ocean. I had this very hood dip striped while I was living in Arizona. I couldn't get at all the bare surfaces and now that I am on Guam, it is starting to take its toll. Dip striping has its place, but I will probably never do it again. There are several products available to nuetralize rust, i.e. naval jelly, Rust Mort, Por 15, Ras-O-Nil, Zero Rust, etc.

I've had good results when using their Correless (sp?) paint. No, I don't work for Eastwood. I sandblast the parts if possible (not body panels, as they warp easily) before painting it on. I also thin it down with lacquer thinner and brush on two coats. I have never tried spraying it on. It works best of all the rust stabilizer type paints I have tried. Eastwood makes it sound like it can be painted right over rust, but of course any paint works far better if the surface is CLEAN and free from rust. I live in the Midwest, and I am always fighting rust on trucks, such as my daily-driver 1969 F100.

Does Eastwood have a website, or can someone tell me who carries it? Thanks
