I am looking to put a new exhaust on my 05 CC and am trying to find out which would be better a turbo back system or a cat back system?
I plan on keeping the cat on so I dont have any problems with the law, and have been told that if I do a turbo back it will just burn out the cat anyway. I use the truck as my daily driver and for towing when I need to. I want something that will give me more air flow and lower the EGT.
I would like to know what kind of input you guys have.
IMO if you leave the cat in, that's just one more thing to restrict the exhaust flow. No Cat...No Restrictions, should equate to lower EGTs. It's really up to you and your state laws, you'll hear from both sides of the fence in this forum.
If you want the best of both worlds, they have a kit for a cutout, so that way you can have the full intact exhaust and when you want to sound mean, flip a switch and there you go. I think they are a 4" system.
