Excursion Water Pump Issues
I bought an 7.3L PSD Excursion about a year ago. The previous owner said that they replaced the water pump about 2000miles ago. This is true as my brother said they paid him to install it. I have put abour 14000miles on it and for a while I have been smelling antifreeze and stupidly ignored it. Today was the first day I noticed antifreeze under the X. I posed pics on my profile. Shouls a pump go that fast? Is it safe to drive the X with a leaking pump? Could it be the gasket seal and not the pump?
The pics show that the pump is only leaking from the bottom right side. (Looking at vehicle head on).

If you end up replacing the pump, the Airtex pump is favored by the 7.3L forum.
It depends on how badly it's leaking and how long you drive it for. But in a nutshell, no, you need to ascertain the reason for the leak and fix it.
Yes, anything is possible. You need to clean the area up and determine the exact cause of the leak.

I would search for "7.3 water pump weep hole" I believe they redesigned the pumps to make a catch basin for the weep hole so it can evaporate rather than leaking onto the ground . So it depends which version of water pump was installed. but an occasional small leak of antifreeze can be normal via weep hole... though more likely the pump seal is probably going out.
