Door open light always on...

which is keeping all the interior lights on & the running board lights. I obviously checked all the doors/gate & they are closed. I pulled the instrument cluster fuse to shut it off when I'm not driving. Is there a common problem that anyone knows of? I can't find anything wrong with any of the doors

Very common.

First thing to try is to spray down all your door latches (liberally) with WD-40 or similar. Open and close the doors a few times to work the stuff in.

The latches gunk up and prevent the switch for the interior lights from being activated. Don't know which one it is but the best thing to do is to just do them all.

The only way is to get them to all go off (Will they go off once you lock the doors?) and then open & close each door, one at a time and wait to see which one doesn't turn off...I guess.

I used silicone spray instead of WD-40, and it worked great! I would suggest using an air gun and blowing out the locks and then spraying them LIBERALLY with silicone. Be sure to spray all parts of the rear hatch latches.

Mine would not go off when I locked the doors. I just waited for the time out (about 40 minutes) and opened a door to see if the lights came on. It was the lift gate. To remedy I sprayed with wd40 but the problem returned. I removed the trim and then the switches and reprayed and wrapped them with electrical tape to keep thedust out. This fix has lasted over two years.

i believe when the truck is running everytime you open a door even if one is opened already the cluster beeps, open each door and the one that does not beep is probly the one that has a bad switch

If you sneak up on your X while all lights are off and open a door. If the lights DON'T come on you've found your culprit. I did this over a couple of days and it was my liftgate.

Rick, thanks. It worked. I found out that its the drivers door actuator. FINALLY.. I ordered the actuator. 1 left, 1 right, 1 tailgate. total $101.

One last question.... I ordered the lock actuators. Is this the wrong part? Is the latch assembly what controls the door open light to stay on or is it the lock actuator assemblies? Did I screw up and order the wrong thing? Ugh, I hate this.........
