Because there is so much oil on it!!!!!
I was driving to work today when I blew the o-ring between the HPOP and the HPOP fitting. There is oil everywhere!!!
I bought the o-rings from Ford on my lunch break and will fix it after work so I can drive home. Man is Ford proud of that o-ring kit or what ( $30.00), but I had to have it.
I will let you know how it goes. It is always something!
Could you tell when it blew? Because yesterday on my way to fill up the truck started shaking, looked under couldnt see much but when i got to the gas station i looked under there was oil everywhere, so im wonderin if its the same thing
Could not really tell anything until I got to work and there was oil everywhere. The oil level barely registers on the dip stick and my whole engine bay is covered in oil.
I had my truck at the trans shop, and the guy told me. "your oil pan gasket needs to be replaced"
I was happy. finally figured out where the oil was coming from.
I just told him "Awesome! the oil pan wont rust then."
He didn't like that answer by the look on his face, but laughed.
I was just happy I knew where the drip was coming from.
Get about a 1 inch circle every night.
Such a slow drip. I dont wanna fix it though. to much work.
I blew the front seal on the tranny. It wouldn't leak most of the time, but when it was hot it dumped fast. I went through a couple of cases of cheap tranny fluid before I could get to the fix.
Even today, 16 months later, I can still tell the truck was oil washed underneath.
