Blue, and Ken, Hi finally got some pictures of my 40 on board Blue how do you like it? and Ken how do I put it in the gallery?
when I click on 40 it says none if you have one of these please send it in I sent my 86 in a while ago and it didn't come up I don't know if I did it right there was something about pixtels in there I wasn't sure of. anyway the pictures of the 40 are in "heres my truck" John
Looks good John!I would say you better get some primer on it,but that metal aint goin' nowhere!
Looks like a good project.Do you have the grille? Those are pricey.
If you tell me it is gonna be powered by a 350 Chev,DONT
I dont want to here that!
Blue it has the grille it is just painted black. and as for power right now as hotrod88 says the donor is rejecting the transplant it has a 454Big Block in there had a blower I am taking it all out and replacing it with a 5.0HO mustang engine and trans(auto with overdrive) it has turbo t-bird rear(8.8 posi) with anti lock rear disc brakes has discs up front too. it has to be as ford as I can make it or I don't want it I had the 454 swapped off before I bought the truck!!!! LOL get rid of the tumor and it will be nice. John
Thats good John!
I am not a rod builder(money)but am critical of them.I hate Rods that are on a Ford base with Chevy power.
It is so godd@mn old!!!
It is plain to see you are goin' after drivebility.Thats good.
Just remember that no matter how much dough goes in the 40,it will always have good resale,if you ever decide too?
The 32 and 40 are pinnicle years.
Give updates as time goes on OK?

Blue, I am working on an album now I have more pictures of it showing the firewall move the t-bird rear rack and pinion steering and suspesion so far I have $2500 in the truck and am trading the 454 for a 5.0 with od trans computer fuel tank and what ever else I can scrounge to make it comfortable I already have recaro buckets for it expect the total to come in around $5,000-$6,000 to finish it complete Not bad considering I have already been offered $4,000 for it!!!
John
Heck,thats cheap!!!
Maybe i can build a oldie??(not)
I dont have that luck.
I got 4000 in my 70.Including the price of truck.
I found a 52 F-1 with Bent 8 and no rust for 5500(obo)i wanted bad to go after it but i knew better. This truck i am building now is stressful on my wife.I am obsessed with getting it done and she thinks i got the rest of my life,Well i do but this is not the only vechicle to be built.Got a car just waiting to go under the knife. It's a 65 and am not telling what brand it is,and no,it aint no GM!!!!!!!!

Sorry,
It's a '65 Dodge Dart GT.I am gonna build a nostalgia drag car out of it.It will be Tor-Red with white Ramcharger stripes, fenderwhell headers,Torque Thrust in front with wide strip white walls, black steelies out back with DOT legal slicks,
It is a idea that has been brewen' and it will happen.
Yes i will admit,i have a soft spot for old MoPars.
But love Ford as well.

blue, I used to have a 67 dart Gt 273 auto it was burgundy with burgundy int. someone gave it to me he was moving and it had a bad trans so he couldn't take it, well..... I junked it I know what I would do to have half the cars I junked in my time I could sell them and retire!!!! another one was a pink and white 55 ford crown vic with a 292 and overdrive. or how about a 57 caddie limo that had papers stating that it was for use in the us senate (forget who it was for) but they gave the senators name. Hind sight is a wonderful thing I keep kicking myself.
John
Yeah,me too!
I also had a 67 Dart GT.It was red on red with white top.Original /6 but i put a 360 in it.Had lotsa MoPars but have always owned Ford trucks. It just seemed to work out that way.
I like alot of Ford cars but was a MoPar man first. But me and Dodge trucks didn't get along, they didn't like me and Chevy was never an option because i helped work on plenty and thought there were highly overrated. All hype.
OLEBLUE70, me and dodge didn't get along I had quite a few I kept trying but couldn't keep freeze plugs in them or frontends in the Dusters and demons just had better luck with fords so I stuck with them My mom had a 70 challenger convert. r/t Orange w/white top 440-6pack man that thing was fast then a 72 charger r/t black 400 magnum w/air grabber hood was pretty nice too I just didn't have any luck. John
Oh,I understand John. They have their problems.
The worst feature of MoPars was the bulk head that met the harness at the firewall. It wasn't nothin to be goin down the road and just like that the car is dead!!
It was the ignition wire at the bulk head. All that exposed plugs are a joke.Yeah,My first MoPar was a 70 Dart Swinger,it needed control arm bushings and they were cheap enough so i bought them and two days later i was done!,I had to borrow a torch and cut the nuts, heads, and beat it apart, then had to chisel out the old bushings that were rock solid.Yeah, fun, but learned alot.
Funnest part about MoPars is to get a Cheby guy to help. They dont know which end is up on a MoPar and just scratch there chin and ask.....what the hell holds these thing up in the front!!
Torsion bars baby, then they think they are stupid then i tell them "oh yeah? Then why do IFS Chevy 4x4's use them?"They shut up when you say that!
OK,better stop talkin about MoPars or Ken will ban me from the site.
