Okay, so here it is. When I purchased my 2005 excursion i had noticed that the fog lights had been removed. I only say this because the wiring was there, and it was obviously cut. I see the 2 orangish red wires and the two black wires. I also have the foglight switch in the truck that where you pull the **** out to activate the fogs and the foglight indicator lights up. I have yet to pull a voltage reading. Anyway, so I purchased some new fog light assemblies, and new 9005 blue cosmos bulbs that everyone on here seems to recommend, they fit perfectly, a little tight, but got them in. I also ordered some new 9005 weathertight connectors, since the original ones had been cut off. So, I am going to be putting these on the rig in the next couple of days. ANyone know what size and pitch body bolt these use? If you happen to know for sure, I would appreciate all the help, thanks again FTE.
Hold on? The bumper has to be pulled to get to the foglight? Aint that some crazy stuff. I got the bolt. I picked up a package of ford misc body side bolts, from Adavanced Auto Parts and it came with a few.
I had to pull my bumper to install the OEM fogs. Not sure of another way to do it. I don't think my hands woulda fit otherwise.
It's a pretty easy job to pull the bumper. 4 bolts. 2 on each side of the tow hooks and one each inside the bumper in front of the tire. Have a helper if you can. It ain't heavy but if it rotates upwards when you remove it it can scratch your paint. (don't ask...)
I was able to get the fogs in, had to remove the bulbs, but it went it. The pain of it all was which I still havent done yet was to bolt the two upper bolts on the fog light housing. I cant seem to get to it. I will try the bumper removal tommorow. Also, does anyone have a link to do the fog light modification? I think there is a mod that whether you have the high beams or low beams the fogs stay on. If nayone has that, I would appreciate. I did a general search but it netted about 25 pages of modification.
