Ive been visiting this site for a while and have read how people have mentioned the lack of 70's models short boxes available and chincy aftermarket replacement panels, just wonderin, has anyone ever tried shortening a long box, I know it would involve some labor, but just a thought.

Jeff, it has and can be done. The bed has to be cut from north east to north west 4 times and welded back twice. You have to remove a section from in front of and behind the wheel well.
