I have a 1995 F-150XLT 4x4 black. I like to keep the truck as clean as possible, but the clear coat does have a bunch of scratches in it from my trip to the pine barons. However, none of the scratches are deep so all of the paint is still there. I have waxed this truck a few times with either Rain Dance or Turtle wax, and when I am done the truck looks good as new in the shade and it makes me so happy that the waxing made the paint look that good. But then as the sun goes down and shines directly onto the truck, it turns into the ugliest thing i have ever seen. Black trucks are hard to keep clean, and under direct sunlight you can easily see every imperfection for a mile away and it looks horrible. But in the shade you cant see a thing and the truck looks like it was just re-painted. Is it possible to have my truck look just as good in the sun as it does in the shade? In the sun not only do I see all of the tiny scrates along the cab and bed, but I also see swirl marks everywhere from waxing the truck. I need help!

I feel your pain....About the look of my paint anyway..
I guess that your paint is 1995 as new,and not just repainted!
I can say that I have a bucket full of aftermarket type cleaner/wax/enhancers..ect.
I have found that one has to almost start over and CLEAN first then POLISH...(Don`t confuse waxing with polishing they are seporate.)
A good detail shop (NOT Car Washes) can give you the best place to start. Also the local automotive paint suplier will sell you Profesional products to get things going.
Restoring paint is hard work and takes time .One product will not work for everything.
Have it profesionaly `rubbed out`. then Polish, polish, polish,.
I have heard that some `Show Cars` are NOT waxed!! Indoor lights highlight problems!!
Not sure i`ve helped you along here, just trying to answer the question..

Hi, go to a paint supply store and tell them what you are trying to do and I'm sure they will steer you in the right direction. I know 3M makes a ggod swirl remover which also blends in scratches but you should probably use micro finishing compound first to clean it up and take out the deeper scratches.
